Join Lindsey from Dorset Forest Bathing on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May, from 7am-9am at Lime Wood Hotel to celebrate International Dawn Chorus Day. The dawn chorus is one of spring’s most uplifting natural moments - a wave of birdsong greeting the first light of day as birds sing to attract mates and defend their territory. From mid-March to early May, early singers such as the European Robin, Song Thrush and Common Blackbird begin the morning performance. They are soon joined by warblers including the Common Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Willow Warbler, along with the gentle cooing of the Common Wood Pigeon. Birds sing most strongly at dawn when the air is still and quiet, allowing their songs to travel further.
The chorus reaches its peak in early May - just in time for International Dawn Chorus Day - offering the perfect excuse to pause, step outside and enjoy one of nature’s most beautiful seasonal sounds. Having worked for many years with the RSPB at RSPB Arne Nature Reserve, Lindsey will once again share her passion and knowledge with us this spring in the beautiful grounds of the hotel.
